کیونکہ اُنکا کام یہ تھا کہ خُداوند کے گھر کی خِدمت کے وقت صحنوں اور کوٹھریوں میں اور سب مُقدس چیزوں کے پاک کرنے میں یعنی خُدا کے گھر کی خِدمت کے کام میں بنی ہارُون کی مدد کریں ۔ اور نذر کی روٹی کا اور مَیدہ کی نذر کی قُربانی کا خواہ وہ بے خمیری روٹیوں یا توے پر کی پکی ہُوئی چیزوں یا تلی ہوُئی چیزوں کی ہو اور ہر طرح کے تول اور ناپ کا کام کریں ۔

Because their office [was] to wait on the sons of Aaron for the service of the house of the LORD, in the courts, and in the chambers, and in the purifying of all holy things, and the work of the service of the house of God;

The Levites had the job of helping Aaron's descendants in the service of the Lord's Temple. They also cared for the Temple yard and the side rooms in the Temple. They had the job of making all holy things pure. It was their job to serve in God's Temple.
